-Ok now i have two receivers for four rooms. Basically i broke my remote and want to know how or if i can use the other (number two) remote for my room? Please hurry i want to watch tv!Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. In this situation you would need to readdress your parents TV2 remote to your receiver box. In order to do this you will need to take their remote to your TV1 location and access the system info screen. I will list here for you the instructions for readdressing the remote. Readdressing the remote to your receiver box
1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by pressing the menu button twice on your TV1 remote or by pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box.
2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote. Make sure to change the Secondary remote address # to something other then what is already listed in the small white square.
4. Press the pound (#) button.
5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
Note: If successful, the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.You can technically use the TV2 remote to watch TV at TV! in a pinch, but you should get a new remote. I'd say get one on eBay. They're dirt cheap and there are tons of them. To use your TV2 remote to control TV1, take the battery cover off of the remote, then grab the tab at the bottom that has the blue #2 on it and pull it out of the bottom of the remote. Flip it over and it has a green #1 on the other side. Just plug it back into the bottom of the remote so the green #1 shows on the front now. Then put the battery cover back on. To go back to controlling TV2, just switch the tab back to the blue #2. Hope this helps.
