Can an old sky box be used somewhere else in the house & how?

-I have an old Sky box in full working order, that I wondered could I use somewhere else in the house?

You see loads of them on ebay etc. so people must be able to use them somehow.

If you can, are they used as a digital receiver box or something else? and how do you rig it up so it can be used?

All advice gratefully received.

Emmayeah you can use it as a "freeview" box, just set it up the same way and if your no longer with sky you'll only be able to receive the free channels.. if your still with sky you can get some kind of antenna thing that enables you to watch your sky t.v in any room that you have a box in.

i hope this helps x
It can only be used with a dish . It will get most of the FREESAT channels without a card . With an old expired card it will get all the FREESAT channels . FREESAT channels are mostly the same as as on FREEVIEW .

A sky box CANNOT be used with an aerial to get freeview. The frequencies and the way it works are different .
You can get a card from Sky, to use it as a Freesat receiver, if your current card does not work.

You can add it to your existing Sky Plan as Multiroom.

Of course, you will need a coax run from the dish, and it be fitted with an LNBF which has enough outputs.
