What is wrong with my VCR?

-My VCR isn't working right. It's barely working at all, I put a tape in and for about 10 seconds I can see something, but then it just goes to fuzz. I probably have 5000+ tapes. I'm a movie buff lol! But what the heck is wrong with it? It does it to any movie I try. I hope it's not breaking my tapes.it sounds like you might have put a dirty tape in it. if you have a tape cleaner try that, if not put a tape in and put it on fast forward wile it is playing when it comes to the end, rewind it wile it is playing and you can see it on the screen. do this a few times and it should clean it. if that does not work open it up and clean the heads with a wash cloth and a little water. i have done all those things before and they worked for me.
vcr wow ,here is what i think is wrong. the head is dirty and will need to be cleaned, its a cool fix . search cleaning and lubrication of vcr head. you can do this, its easy.. let me know how it goes ..jay
