Magnavox dvd recorder mrv660 says blocked?

-magnavox dvd recorder mrv 660 says blocked? I got it to open with lever under the drawer, it won't play, or record or open ..put blank disc in, tried to record, says BLOCKED, put new store bought disk in, (and again had to open with lever,) would not play says BLOCKED I could not find any repair shops in my area I called Magnavox & Phillips they no longer service that model ..it is old by year model, but almost brand new in use. I tried refering to the manual to find how to unblock it. with the password factory default.for safety features child lock Please help. Thank you
